American showman (1860–1942) who began his career as a trapper and Pawnee interpreter and later became a partner in Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show. ALS in pencil signed “G. W. Lillie, Pawnee Bill,” one page, 5.25 x 8.25, Pawnee Bill’s Buffalo Ranch letterhead with gold foil Pawnee Bill seal on a slip affixed (evidently later) at lower left, November 26, 1927. Bill writes to a fan. In part: “I will be very glad to autograph the photo you mention and I thank you for telling me about the R. Mt. News, I will send for a copy….” Matted with a portrait to an overall size of 20 x 14.75. Affixed seal as noted and a few mild wrinkles, otherwise fine, clean condition. R&R COA.
