Tee time for tycoon?

American entrepreneur (1839–1937) who entered the oil industry at the age of twenty-four and worked ruthlessly to unify his business interests into the powerful Standard Oil Trust. TLS, one page, 5.5 x 6.5, personal letterhead, January 19, 1910. Rockefeller writes to Charles H. Brown in Yonkers. In full: “Answering your kind note of the 16th, I regret my golf course has not been in condition for playing of late, but I shall look forward with pleasure to the time when it will be all right again. I note that you are going to Augusta Thursday of this week, and I hope to join you there in a week or two.” Matted with an image and the original mailing envelope to an overall size of 11 x 14. Light intersecting mailing folds (vertical fold through first name) and a few wrinkles, otherwise fine condition. R&R COA.
