American Army general (1896–1970) who oversaw the construction of the Pentagon and who was the primary military supervisor of the Manhattan Project which resulted in the first atomic bomb. Two 1960 TLS on Groves’s personal Remington Rand letterhead, one scheduling a meeting and the other discussing a visit to Decatur in 1944, each signed in ballpoint “Leslie R.
