Signer of the Declaration of Independence from New Hampshire (1729–1795). DS, one page, 7.5 x 12.5, March 1, 1760. Indenture document, in which Ezra Badger, an innholder, sells to Joseph Colby a tract of fifteen acres of land in Kingston. In part, “Know all men by the presents that I Ezra Badger of Kingston…for & in consideration of the full sum of two thousand & two hundred pounds old tender to me in hand paid by Joseph Colby…have sold…a certain tract of land…containing fifteen acres.” Signed at the bottom by Bartlett as a witness. Document is affixed to a slightly larger sheet by its left edge. In very good condition, with professional repairs to fold separations on reverse, scattered light soiling and toning (heaviest along folds), and light show-through from docketing on reverse.
