DS, signed “Charles A. Lindbergh,” one page, 8.5 x 13, April 20, 1930. A signed time certification for the arrival of Charles and Anne Lindbergh at Roosevelt Field on Long Island, New York, addressed to the Chairman of the Contest Committee. The document reads, in part: “As per your request, I beg to advise you of the official correct time taken here on arrival of Colonel and Mrs. Lindbergh on Sunday, April 20th, 1930…. Time: 11-11-52.” The document is signed at the conclusion by the official timer of the National Aeronautics Association and countersigned by two witnesses; Lindbergh signs at lower left. On April 20, 1930, the Lindberghs set a transcontinental speed record, flying from Los Angeles to Roosevelt Field in a Lockheed Sirius in 14 hours and 45 minutes, with only one refueling stop. Anne, who was seven months pregnant, sat in the rear seat, navigating, operating the radio, and supplying information about weather and landing conditions. Intersecting folds, rusty paperclip mark to top left, and a trivial brush to signature, otherwise fine condition. An important relic of a significant aviation milestone! R&R COA..
