Longtime Dodgers player and manager (1924–1972) who later joined the Mets and managed the team in their stunning 1969 World Series victory. He died of a heart attack at the age of forty-seven. Vintage fountain pen signature, “Best wishes, Gil Hodges,” on an off-white 5.5 x 3.25 government postcard (postmarked 7/15/1949). A small clipped photo of Hodges has been affixed next to signature.
