Description

Distinguished Hungarian-born American film director (1886–1962) who helmed such all-time classics as Casablanca, Angels with Dirty Faces, Yankee Doodle Dandy, and White Christmas. Nominated four times for an Academy Award as Best Director, he won the Oscar for Casablanca. Bold vintage ink signature and inscription, “To Peter, Mike Curtiz,” on an 8 x 10.5 book page that includes a photo of Curtiz. The page is part of a three-page article by Curtiz (included in its entirety), “For You—New Faces,” published in the circa 1940s book Hollywood Album by Ivy Crane Wilson; the leaf adjacent to the first page has also been signed by Ann Blyth. The subtlest suggestion of handling wear, otherwise very fine, fresh condition. R&R COA.
