Ink endorsement, “Nine dollars, Robert Louis Stevenson, Nov. 1st,” on a receipt from H[arry] J[ay] Moors handwritten in pencil on a lightly lined off-white 4.5 x 2.5 slip. Moors (1854–1936) was a Detroit-born author who befriended Stevenson and wrote a memoir titled With Stevenson in Samoa. Matted with an engraved plaque and color portrait to an overall size of 15.5 x 11.5. Small spot to one corner and small, unobtrusive tear to central portion (both well away from Stevenson’s writing), otherwise fine condition. R&R COA.
