Marxist guerilla insurgent who aided Castro’s Cuban revolution and rallied other Third World countries to overthrow their corrupt regimes. Captured during a 1967 guerilla campaign in Bolivia, he was summarily executed the following day, instantly transformed to a martyr and inspiration for other reactionaries. Ministerio de Industrias mention of honor presented to Carlos Hymelin Ortega, an employee in a manufacturing company, signed at the bottom in black ink, “Ché.” In good condition, with heavy overall foxing affecting appearance and some scattered creasing and wrinkling, not affecting signature.
