Unusual vintage tinted matte-finish 15.5 x 19 publicity photo from the 1940 play Heavenly Express, signed in fountain pen “To Violet, John Garfield,” “Good luck to Violet from her friend Harry Carey,” and “To Violet, Aline MacMahon.” The photo is mounted to a same-sized piece of thick pressed cardboard. In very good condition, with scattered toning, soiling, and light staining (small spot touching Garfield’s last name), edge wear, ink a shade light, and indistinct contrast to MacMahon against background.
