Description

Writing to fellow Signer Charles Carroll on a real estate “partnership”

LS, one page, 6.25 x 7.75, January 6, 1793. Wilson writes to Charles Carroll of Carrollton (1737–1832), the Signer from Maryland. In part: “My surveyor has at last returned; but has been prevented by a fall of snow, from finishing the business. It must be resumed the next season. This, though a delay, will be an advantage to you. For I can, and will, next summer or fall, lay before you a larger object, from which your proportion can be taken. This will give you the benefit of a double selection—the first by me—the second by yourself. I have the honour to be, with great regard….” Framed with a portrait and engraved plaque to an overall size of 9.5 x 15.75. Intersecting folds (vertical fold to first name) and scattered light toning, otherwise fine condition. Auction LOA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
