Signer of the U.S. Constitution from Maryland (1723–1790). ALS signed “Dan. of St. Thos. Jenifer,” one page, 5.75 x 6, May 1, 1790. St. Thomas writes to his nephew. In full: “Inclosed you have a letter for my sister which please to deliver. This on a very serious subject which I have no objection to your perusing probably she will get you to read it to her it not being so legible as I would wish but I wish the letter not to be made public. I am your affectionate uncle….” Matted and framed with a portrait and engraved plaque to an overall size of 16 x 18.75. In very good condition, with light wrinkling, faint water stains to body, text ink a bit on the light side (but fully legible), and light intersecting folds (vertical fold through last name of signature).
