Description

Sincere praise for a “most charming, careful, excellent piece of work”

ALS, one page, 8 x 10.5, Lou Pidou letterhead, February 1, 1928. Wells writes to Mrs. Colby. In part: “I take the praising of books very seriously and I never praise them unless I think they deserve praise. There is no … politeness about me in that matter. I think your book a most charming, careful, excellent piece of work. Thank you for sending it. In very good condition, with intersecting mailing folds, glue stain to top margin, a few corner chips, tears and stains touching blank portions only, and light wrinkling. The writing is dark throughout. R&R COA.
