Evers grants his permission “to portray or represent me in a motion picture photoplay to be based on the life of Lou Gehrig, to use my name in such photoplay and to use my name and likeness in any and all advertising and publicity in connection with such photoplays, all in such manner as you may desire and without compensation to me.” Signed at the conclusion in black ink by Evers, adding his New York address to the lower left corner.
