Description

British biologist (1825–1895) who was an early and vocal advocate of Darwin’s theories and who coined the term “agnosticism.” ALS signed “T. H. Huxley,” three pages on two adjoining sheets, 3.5 x 5.75, black-bordered stationery, January 3, 1881. Huxley writes to G. M. Grantley. In part: “I felt nearly as bad after going through it as I always do after … a picture gallery…. May you have a full measure of success without that suffering of the brain….” In very good condition, with scattered soiling and complete horizontal separation with early tape repair. R&R COA.
