Popular silent-era screen comedian (1869–1940) whose most distinctive feature was his crossed eyes, which were reportedly insured against uncrossing by Lloyd’s of London. Vintage glossy 5 x 7.75 photo, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, “To John, Best wishes, Ben Turpin.” Tiny marginal corner bend and a few very mild surface marks, otherwise very fine condition. A terrific example! R&R COA.
