American author (1857–1945) best known for the novel John Ward, Preacher and her “Old Chester” series of short story collections. Seven items: Two undated ALS, one sending thanks, the other discussing the recipient’s cancelled engagement; two TLS, 1930 and 1934, sending friendly greetings and personal news; and three ink signatures and sentiments on 3 x 5 cards with her affixed bookplates. In fine condition, with light handling wear to letters, mailing fold of one ALS touching signature, and light brushing to sentiment on one card. R&R COA.
