TLS as president signed “D. E.,” one page, 6.75 x 9, White House letterhead, January 23, 1958. Letter to Brigadier General Benjamin Caffey. In part, “Quite naturally I am delighted to have your favorable report on the reception accorded the State of the Union message in your part of the country. Particularly I appreciate all you say because I did work very hard on the talk in the effort to convey precisely my true convictions.” Accompanied by the original mailing envelope.
