Appointing the Duke of Rocca Imperial de Plaza

Holy Roman Emperor who ruled from 1711 to 1741; father of the beloved empress Maria Theresa of Austria. Impressive DS, in Latin, signed “Yo el Rey” (I the King), twelve pages both sides, 8.25 x 11.75, December 1, 1725. Charles appoints Alphonso Crivello to the position of Duke of Rocca Imperial de Plaza, his Regent, Governor, and Captain General of his Kingdom of the Two Sicilies. Document goes on to specify what are to be the Duke’s powers, finances, and other particulars. Signed on the last page in ink by Charles VI and countersigned by seven of his Ministers, each adding small notations as well. Light folds from previous storage, scattered light soiling and wrinkling and small pinhole to lower left of each page from seal removal, otherwise fine condition.
