American soldier and actor (1924–1971) whose heroism during World War II earned him the Medal of Honor. After the war, Murphy parlayed his popularity, small-town charm, and baby-faced good looks into a respectable film career, appearing in a string of (mostly) westerns and war dramas. He died in a plane crash at the age of forty-six. Ballpoint signature, “Audie Murphy,” on an off-white 5 x 3 card. In fine condition, with pencil notation to top right corner and a bit of scattered light soiling. R&R COA.
