Description

Por favor, Señor Disney? Grande Disney signature from his 1941 South American goodwill tour

Large, dark vintage fountain pen signature, “Greetings & Best Wishes, Walt Disney,” on an off-white 8.5 x 7 album page dated 1941. The consignor notes that the signature was obtained in Montevideo, Uruguay, during Disney’s goodwill tour of South America in September of 1941. Disney and a studio entourage made the public relations trip at the request of the United States government to firm up America’s western-hemisphere alliances during World War II. Disney also used this opportunity to gather input for future film projects, most notably the Latin-flavored features Saludos Amigos and The Three Caballeros. In fine condition, with slight show-through from signatures on reverse and a touch of light soiling. PSA/DNA Auction LOA and R&R COA.
