Description

Baseball executive who served as the founder and first president of the American League. He was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1937 as one of its charter members. TLS signed “B. B. Johnson,” one page, 8.5 x 11, American League letterhead, April 21, 1923. Letter to Yankees General Manager Ed Barrow. In full, “The New York Club has not notified me relative to the official scorer. This should be done at once.” Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from James Spence. Several mailing folds, a few creases and a vertical pencil stroke through text, otherwise fine condition.
