Pope, born Giacomo della Chiesa (1854–1922), who reigned from 1914 to 1922. Maintaining strict neutrality during WWI, he advanced several peace proposals and did much to aid war victims. DS, signed “Benedictus P.P. XV,” one page, 10.25 x 13.5, June 12, 1921. An apostolic blessing for “Sister Wenceslas” featuring a calligraphic inscription and an affixed circular photo of Benedict.
