Description

Hitler’s deputy. Hess was condemned to life imprisonment for war crimes in the Nuremberg Trials. He eventually became the only inmate in Berlin’s Spandau Prison, where he committed suicide after failed attempts by his children to have him released. Vintage 7.5 x 9.75 Conrad portrait photo, signed and inscribed in fountain pen in German and signed in the lower border, “R. Hess,” and dated “München, 12.6.38.” In fine condition, with moderate contrast to inscription over dark portion of image and some light border creases. R&R COA.
