LS in French, boldly signed “Louis,” one page, 9.75 x 14.75, March 14, 1704. Louis empowers the authorities of Savoie to enforce the law in his name, provided they take an oath of allegiance. Attractively matted and framed with an explanatory plaque to an overall size of 19.5 x 28.75. In very good condition, with short edge separations at folds, light scattered soiling and wrinkling (a few small spots), and four clean, unobtrusive slits along right side, touching a few words of text.
