TLS, signed as Commander of Apollo XI, one page, 8 x 10.5, NASA letterhead, June 30, 1969. Armstrong writes to noted political cartoonist William Numeroff, who had sent an item to be included in the capsule. In full: “Thank you very much for your letter which I recently received. It is with regret that I tell you I will be unable to carry the envelope on the Apollo XI flight this summer. I know you are aware of the critical factors of weight and space, and also realize that it is not feasible for us to carry any of the thousands of articles people from all over the world request we carry on a mission. For this reason, I am returning the envelope to you for your disposition. Again, thank you very much for your interest in our activities and best wishes.” In very fine condition. Autograph material from Armstrong mentioning his Apollo mission or any of its details is extremely rare. COA Scott Cornish and R&R COA
