Union general (1827–1890) who fought at First Bull Run and Port Royale, and who, after the war, became commander of the expedition against the Sioux during which Custer met his end at Little Bighorn. Two items: Ink signature, “Alfred H. Terry, Major General,” on an ivory 3.25 x 1.75 card; and a partially printed DS, “Abstract of Payments” listing two payees, 9.75 x 5.5, 1870, endorsed in ink by Terry, “Alfred H. Terry, Brig. General, U.S.A., Comdg. Dept. South.” Both items are matted and framed together with a photo and engraved plaque to an overall size of 20 x 31.25.
