STEELY RESOLVE DURING VIETNAM: “Whatever enemy or challenge tests our will—they will find it unbreakable”

Excellent TLS, one page, 6.75 x 8.75, White House letterhead, January 29, 1968. Johnson writes to Senator Jennings Randolph. In full: “The news reports of your strong support of my State of the Union address are wonderful. Whatever enemy or challenge tests our will—they will find it unbreakable because of the strength you bring to your President’s heart and your nation’s purpose.” After signing, Johnson adds a handwritten postscript: “You are such a good loyal friend.” In very fine condition. A beautifully preserved letter with exceptional character! Auction LOA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
