Quirkily brilliant entertainer (1919–1962) whose freewheeling sense of humor and sense of visual style made him of the most distinctive personalities in the early days of television. He died in a 1962 auto crash while driving the notoriously “unsafe at any speed” Chevrolet Corvair. Scarce vintage glossy 7 x 9 photo, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, “To Norman, Neither sleet nor frost nor fertilizer on lawns shall stay these etc. etc. etc., Ernie Kovacs.” In fine condition, with corner bends, a few scattered dings, and scattered light brushing and slightly irregular ink adhesion. R&R COA.
