Last King of France (1773–1850) who reigned from 1830 until his death. ALS in French, signed “LP,” one page, 5 x 7.75, September 17, 1830. Louis expresses his hope for a meeting and mentions General Sebastiani. The top edge bears an ink inscription in a contemporaneous hand: “Presented to Gen. LaFayette, to whom the note was addressed by Louis-Philippe.” In good condition, with tape stains at lower right (affecting signature), and losses and adhesive remnants to corners affecting a few words. The body of the letter is boldly penned and mostly unaffected. R&R COA.
