Our little secret: Clinton sends birthday wishes to one of the infamous Arkansas state troopers

TLS signed “Bill,” one page, 7 x 9.5, State of Arkansas letterhead, August 19, 1983. Clinton writes to Barry Spivey. In full: “I want to wish you a very happy birthday. I appreciate your friendship, and I hope this year brings you much happiness.” Spivey, an Arkansas trooper who served as the governor’s personal bodyguard during Clinton’s gubernatorial administration, later provided damaging testimony during the investigation into Clinton’s alleged sexual misconduct in the wake of accusations by Paula Jones and others. Matted and framed with a magazine cover to an overall size of 17.5 x 11.75. A few winkles, otherwise fine condition. R&R COA.
