Stunningly beautiful vintage matte-finish 11.75 x 14.75 photo on a 12.5 x 16.5 mount, signed and inscribed in fountain pen on the photographer’s mount, “Love to dearest D.D. from Vivien, 1949.” The mount is also signed by the photographer at lower left, “Angus McBean, London.” In very good condition, with mild toning and soiling to mount, faint vertical bend to upper part of image, creases to corners of mount (touching date of inscription), and emulsion “smudge” at lower right. The overall presentation is quite striking, and signed Leigh photos of this size and vintage—not to mention sheer gorgeousness—are quite elusive. PSA/DNA Auction LOA and R&R COA.
