Revolutionary War hero (1756–1818), father of Robert E. Lee, who captured British posts in New York and in the South and who later served in the Continental Congress. Partially printed DS, one page on vellum, 14.5 x 12, March 26, 1792. A document, signed by Lee as Governor of Virginia, granting a parcel of land in Montgomery County to James Newell. The embossed paper seal remains intact at lower left. In very good condition, with scatted toning and soiling, a few small spots, and a few small holes along folds. The signature is large, dark, and mostly unaffected. R&R COA.
