Popular child star (1927–1959) best known for his role as “Alfalfa” in the classic 1930s series of “Our Gang” film shorts. After a handful of supporting screen roles in his post-Gang career, Switzer was shot in an altercation and died at the age of thirty-one. Terrific and scarce vintage glossy 4.5 x 7 photo of a seated Alfalfa sporting his trademark vertical cowlick and holding a guitar or ukulele, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, “To Pal Kitty, Alfalfa Switzer, Our Gang.” A few faint rubs and surface marks and slightly irregular ink adhesion, otherwise fine, clean condition.
