ANS, one page, 4 x 3, no date. Bergman sends a note of thanks to multiple-Tony-winning producer Gilbert Miller (1884–1970). In full: “Thanks for your wishes for a success. We got it! Hurrah!!” Accompanied by an unsigned copy of Miller’s telegram to Bergman, dated November 18, 1946, which reads: “Best wishes for a big success tonight.” The play in question, Joan of Lorraine by Maxwell Anderson, based on the life of Joan of Arc, earned Bergman a Tony as Best Actress; she also earned an Academy Award nomination for the same role when the play was adapted for the screen in 1948. A hint of subtle soiling and staple holes with tiny rust traces, otherwise fine condition. R&R COA.
