Legendary Chinese-American martial arts artist and actor (1940–1973) whose skill, charisma, and presence afforded martial arts films a new measure of respectability and popularity. His untimely death “by misadventure” sparked all manner of speculation, including rumors of assassination, ancestral curses, and more. Illustrated Chinese-language martial arts instructional book, tape-bound newsprint covers, 5 x 7.25, 86 pages, signed in ballpoint on the front cover, “Property of B. Lee,” Lee adding a column of Chinese characters translating as “Basic Chinese Gung Fu Curriculum”; he has also underlines sevral passages within the text. Though it is difficult to tell, it is possible that the book was originally bound as a conventional softcover; however, it may just as likely have been a “pulp” publication that was produced as inexpensively as possible for the enormous Asian market. In any event, it appears complete and intact. Expected mild toning and a few mild wrinkles, tears, and tiny chips, otherwise fine condition. The writing itself is dark, clear, and otherwise unaffected. PSA/DNA LOA and R&R COA.
