Second son of George III (1763–1827) who served as Commander-in-Chief of the British Army. Partially printed DS, signed “Frederick, Commander in Chief,” one page, 12 x 8, May 11, 1802. A commission for R. T. C. de Raadt as ensign. Matted and framed with an engraved plaque to an overall size of 20.5 x 17. In very good condition, with fold through signature, small adhesive remnant to lower margin, stain to central portion, and scattered soiling. The signature is otherwise bold and dark. R&R COA.
