Revolutionary War soldier, lawyer, senator, and vice president under Jefferson (1756–1836), probably best known for mortally wounding Alexander Hamilton in a duel on July 11, 1804. ADS, signed “A. Burr,” one page, 8 x 3.75, November 10, 1803. A handwritten check made out in New York to “AB or bearer” in the amount of $300.00. In good to very good condition, with cut cancellations (touching a few words; near but not touching signature), wrinkles and small edge tears, and light toning. The signature is clear and unaffected.
