We’re sorry for the delay in writing to you but due to circumstances beyond our control we were hijacked onto Sam Spiegel’s yacht and suffered severely from exposure to French cuisine. Any gifts in the form of money, old cars, used but laundered underwear, gold false teeth, trinkets, baules, Danny La Rue, bankles and beads will be gratefully received.” Seller’s added the handwritten greeting, his mailing address, and the postscript “Will write soon.” Accompanied by the original mailing envelope.
