Description

Babe Ruth single-signed ball, signed during his Hall of Fame election year

Perhaps the greatest baseball player ever. Ruth was among the first five players elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame, and was the first player to hit over 30, 40 and 50 home runs in one season. His 60 home runs in 1927 season was the record for most home runs in a season for 34 years. Amateur League baseball signed and inscribed in fountain pen on a side panel, “To Ross Gray from Babe Ruth.” Also written on the sweet spot, in another hand, “and Ducky Wucky, October 18, 1936.” In good condition, with even overall age toning to ball, scattered light surface marks and rubs, affecting several letters of signature and inscription and aforementioned notations. In 1936, Ruth was one of the first five players elected into the Baseball Hall of Fame, making this a desirable and affordable addition to the die-hard baseball collector. LOA Steve Grad/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
