Russian actor, director, and teacher (1863–1938) whose famous physical-and-experiential-based “method” of acting influenced generations of performers, including the likes of Marilyn Monroe, James Dean, Marlon Brando, Robert DeNiro, and Johnny Depp. ALS in English signed “C. Stanislavsky,” one lightly lined page, 4.75 x 7.75, theater letterhead, November 24, 1908. Stanislavsky writes to an unnamed gentleman. In part: “I would be very pleased to make your acquaintance and hope to see you in Moscow. I will be very happy if I and my theater can be usefull [sic] to you.” Matted and framed with a photo to an overall size of 17.75 x 14.5.
