Monroe sees to arrangements for one of his most admired diplomats

LS as president, signed “Yours sincerely, James Monroe,” one page, 8 x 6.25, March 5, 1819. Letter concerning arrangements for one of his most admired diplomats, John Graham. In full, “Mr. Graham will be ready to sail on the first of April in the Congress for Rio de Janeiro. It is necessary that accommodations be prepared, or rather reserved for him and his family, in the ship and for that purpose, that immediate information thereof be given to the Commander. Respecting other material connected with this business we will confer when we see you.” In fine condition, with three light vertical mailing folds, a small hole to three of the corners and a bit on the fragile side .
