Winner of the 1908 Nobel Prize in Medicine

German scientist (1854–1915) who pioneered (and coined the term) chemotherapy and, in his research on a cure for syphilis, developed the “magic bullet” concept of selectively targeting a disease-causing organism. ALS in German, signed “P. Ehrlich,” one page, 5.25 x 8, personal letterhead, no date. Ehrlich writes to unnamed “gentlemen.” In full (translated): “I have just received the new pigments and want to thank you promptly for your extraordinary kindness. In case one of the other sample is usable, I will let you know.” Matted and framed with an unsigned photo to an overall size of 17.75 x 14.5. In fine, bright condition. R&R COA.
