Vintage glossy 10 x 8 wire photo of the 1932 New York Yankees, showing Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig and the rest of the World Champion team, signed in ink and ballpoint by seven members: Joe McCarthy, Red Ruffing, George Pipgras, Joe Sewell, Bill Dickey, Ben Chapman and Lefty Gomez. Photo also bears a stamped Earl Combs signature. In very good condition, with brushing to Combs signature, scattered creasing and edge dings and an old piece of Scotch tape to left edge. After three also-ran seasons to the Philadelphia Athletics, the Yankees returned to the American League top perch under new manager Joe McCarthy in 1932 and swept the Chicago Cubs in the Series, running the team's streak of consecutive World Series game wins to 12, a mark which would stand until the Yankees bested it in the 2000 World Series.
