Collected a record-setting nine hits in a doubleheader

Baseball Hall of Famer who hit over .300 in seven of his thirteen seasons. On July 25, 1928, he became the first National League player to collect nine hits in a doubleheader, a record which stands today. ALS signed “Fred Lindstrom, Baseball Coach, Northwestern University,” one page, 8.5 x 11, Northwestern University letterhead, June 27, 1955. Polite letter to a collector agreeing to sign a baseball. In part, “Please be advised of my willingness to sign the baseball you propose to send.” In fine condition, with bisecting mailing folds and a few edge wrinkles. LOA Steve Grad/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
