First Viscount Montgomery of Alamein. British army officer who during World War II commanded the British victories over German forces in North Africa (1942) and the Allied advance through Normandy (1944). Terrific 1961 Christmas card, which opens to 16.5 x 6.5 and features an imprinted sentiment on the left and a wonderful photo of Montgomery with the young cast of Oliver visiting Montgomery in June of 1961. Montgomery has inscribed above the sentiment “To: you both,” and signed under the sentiment, “Montgomery of Alamein.” In fine condition, with a couple stray ink marks, some light toning and surface loss to one edge of cover, with inside largely unaffected. R&R COA.
