German fighter ace (1920–1944) who was the first pilot ever to score 250 victories, attaining a total of 258 before he was shot down on November 8, 1944. Lot of two items: ANS in pencil signed “Nowotny,” one page in German, 8.25 x 5.5, to “Herrn Nohr”; and a magazine photo, 2.75 x 3.5, affixed to a slightly larger slip, signed in blue ink, “Nowotny.” In fine condition, with mild toning and handling wear to note and light soiling to photo.
