Italian composer (1813–1901) who takes a place among the most influential figures in the history of opera and whose works, including such classics as Rigoletto, La Traviata, and Aida, are a cornerstone of the genre. Lot of two items: unsigned mailing envelope addressed in Verdi’s hand to Giuseppe Autere de Cristofano in Catania, 4.75 x 3.75; and the composer’s printed 3.5 x 2 calling card with an illegible one-word sentiment in his hand. In fine condition, with mild even toning to both, expected postal markings and light soiling to envelope, and one rough edge to envelope from opening (away from writing). R&R COA.
