Aiding a constituent In his final month as Senator

ALS signed “Benj. Harrison,” one lightly-lined page, 8.25 x 10.75, United States Senate letterhead, February 9, 1887. Harrison writes to Benjamin Lakin in Point Pleasant, Ohio. In part: “It is not usual for members of the [Military] Committee to express their individual opinions on a bill. I have made several efforts, but they have been unsuccessful, to have your bill reported by the Committee.” In fine condition, with mild toning and wrinkling, folds, and a few tiny edge tears.
