Hand-addressed and free-franked address panel, 5 x 3.5, addressed in Jefferson’s hand to “Mr. C. Hammond, St. Clairsville, via Washington,” and boldly franked in the top left corner “Free Th: Jefferson.” Panel is affixed to an almost identically sized green card. In good condition, with several complete separations along folds, “Free” written in another hand to top right, scattered toning and soiling, heavier to lower left.
